core: don't use stale window images
Previously, when the backend doesn't implement root_change(), we will deinit, and then init the backend again. However, we didn't free all the images previously returned by the backend. There is no guarantee that these images will be valid across deinit/init. So, make sure they are freed. Signed-off-by: Yuxuan Shui <yshuiv7@gmail.com>
